Obituary of Lulubelle Clapp

Lulubelle (Penrod) Clapp went to meet her Lord on August 9, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, nursing professional, and friend to many.

Lulubelle was the daughter of Clarence M. Penrod and Pluma N. Keister, born in Wabash County, Indiana on July 9th, 1934.

Since 1965, Lu, as she was fondly known, resided in Gridley, CA with her family. Her career as a registered nurse included working in the Gridley Hospital, ultimately retiring from Fremont Hospital in Yuba City, CA in 1994.

Lulubelle was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn C. Clapp. She is survived by two siblings; Ralph Penrod and Rachel Webb. She is also survived by four children, 8 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Starla Williams (husband Greg and daughter Rachel Urbansky), Roland Scott (wife Kathleen and children Caleb, Benjamin, Jacob, Amanda), Trula Hickman (husband Neil and daughter Michelle), Ginger Walker (children Christopher and Jamie).

Services to celebrate Lu’s life will be held on Friday, August 26th at 2:00 PM at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, 679 Ohio St, Gridley, CA. A reception follows immediately afterwards at the Colonia Building, 479 B St, Biggs, CA .

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be submitted in honor of Lu in support of Shasta Church Camp, to Biggs United Methodist Church, PO Box 425, Biggs, CA 95917. Please be sure to reference Lulubelle Clapp's name and specify the donation is for the Shasta Church Camp.
