Obituary of Juanita June Rose

June Rose, 80, died June 15, 2022, at her home in Oroville, California. She was born in Oklahoma on April 28, 1942, to Foster O’Donnell and Opal Augusta Roberts. She was the widow of Russell Ray Rose. They married in 1962 and enjoyed 53 years together. 

 

June graduated from Harry Ells High School in Richmond. She studied at UC Berkley. She faithfully attended Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a proud Native American and spoke of her Cherokee heritage often. Her greatest joy in life was her grandson, Tyler. She dearly loved and missed her cousins in Oklahoma and the Bay Area. She had a passion for animals, flowers, and her southern cooking was outstanding.

 

She is survived by her son Tim Rose and his wife Jane (Zimmerman) Rose, and her grandson Tyler Rose. She was preceded in death by her father, Foster O’Donnell, mother, Opal O’Donnell, husband, Russell Ray Rose, and sisters:  Billie McGee and Kathryn Forrester. June will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. 

 

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on June 29, 2022, at the Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church, a celebration of life will follow. Pastor Johnnie Dollins will officiate. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at 200 Executive Parkway, Oroville, CA 95966.
