Obituary of Manuela Lucy Becerril

Manuela "Nellie" Navarro Becerril passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the age of 91 in her home and with family by her side. Born on February 26, 1931 in Oroville, CA to Jesus and Librada Navarro. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a devout Catholic and loved traveling with her husband across the U.S and Mexico. She lived in Arlington, Virginia and in San Fernando, CA until her husband's retirement in which they settled in her hometown of Oroville, CA. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Adolfo Alquicira Becerril; her sons Ramon and David Becerril; her brothers Henry, Johnny, and Albert Navarro; and sisters Charlotte Gama, Marylou Rivera, Antonia Avina, Lucia and Carmen Navarro. Survived by her 12 children, Adolfo Becerril, Barbara Ramirez, Martha Litwinko, Celeste Castrellon, Ernest Becerril, Joe Becerril, Rudy Becerril, Vincent Becerril, Mary Olivares, Jesse Becerril, Angie Becerril and Gabriel Becerril; her brothers Paul, Bob and Dan Navarro; sisters Helen Paniagua, Ora Parker and Connie Paniagua; Nellie is also survived by her 41 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. Nellie's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of the countless people who loved her; we hope that it will one day begin to be filled by recognition of the blessing that it is having known and loved her while she was here. May the light and strength that shone through Nellie live through us all. Visitation with Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, California. Funeral Mass will be held for Nellie on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1330 Bird Street, Oroville, California and she will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd Oroville, CA.
