Obituary of Barry Eugene Lewis

Barry Lewis, age 61, of Biggs CA went to heaven on March 6th, 2022 in Chico CA with his wife and family by his side. Barry was a devoted and Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son and Friend. Born and raised in Gridley CA he graduated from Gridley High School and attended Butte College. At age 20 he started working for United Parcel Service. A year later he met Kimberly Fredericks and they married soon after. They had two boys Derek and Brian Lewis. Barry loved his boys and Kim very much. The boys kept their dad very busy with baseball and football games, deer, duck & pheasant hunting, camping and vacationing in Fort Bragg. Barry became a proud Papa to Brittany and Bently Lewis, who he loved with all his heart. Barry retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years at age 50. He loved working in his yard, helping his neighbors during walnut harvest, taking drives with Kim and his three dogs, Roxy, Baby and Spotty and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 40 Years Kim Lewis, son Derek Lewis and wife Kelly, Granddaughter Brittany Lewis, Grandson Bently Lewis, son Brian Lewis, Mother and Father Jessie and Ralph Lewis, Sister Dianne Gerst and husband Rick, nephew Kevin Gerst and wife Christine, nephew Chad Gerst and wife Stephanie, Godparent Aunt Margaret Castro and Uncle Humberto Castro, cousin Christine Stewart. Father and Mother-in-law Steve and Louise Fredericks. Sister-in-law Cami Dew and Chuck May, Brother-in-law Jeff Fredericks and wife Darlene, Brother-in-law Greg Fredericks and wife Linda, Uncle Bill and Beci Lambert, cousin Kristen Lambert. He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and very close Friends. No words or actions will bring Barry back but he will always be with his family and friends in memory and spirit. A Memorial service will be held at the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, 679 Ohio St. Gridley, CA on April 10th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., following there will be a celebration of life at the Gridley Moose Lodge, 1533 CA-99, Gridley, CA from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, 530-846-2138.
