Obituary of Jose Chaidez Favela

Jose Favela of Durango, Mexico passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the age of 94. After several months of declining health, Jose died peacefully with his beloved wife Ramona and their children by his side. Jose was born in Tepehuanes, Durango on January 10th of 1928, to father Cleofas Favela Vizcarra and mother Eustaquia Chaidez Favela. A brother to 11 siblings, Jose didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped out on his family’s small farm and worked any odd jobs he could find starting at an early age. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led him to building his own landscaping business. With the help of his loving wife, they formed long standing relationships with each client they worked with. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, by his siblings Hipolita, Pedro, Genoveva, Jose, Maria, Jesus, Cleofas, Candelaria; by his son Manuel; and by two of his grandsons Alberto and Raymond. He is survived by his wife Ramona Favela; by his brothers Severiano and Felipe; by his children Ramona, Emma, Violeta, Dianna and husband Patrick, Maria, Jose and his wife Christy, Graciela, Lydia, Juan, Ramon, and Cheyito; and by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will all miss him deeply. People wishing to honor Jose’s lifelong commitment to family and community can attend the visitation planned for Sunday, Febuary 27th, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm. The visitation will be at the Ramsey Funeral Home on 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, California. All are invited to attend.
