Obituary of Ruth Marie Shawver

Ruth Marie Hammons Shawver passed away quietly in her Gridley home in the early hours of Jan 12, 2022. One of 15 children, Ruth was born to Jink and Locke Meadows Hammons in Greenbriar Co, West Virginia on April 24th, 1929. As a young woman, Ruth found her way to California where she met and married George Shawver with whom she had 4 children and lived in Butte Co. A home maker and seasonal employee of the local cannery, Ruth was the matriarch of her family for generations, to include 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be remembered fondly. Services will be held at Gridley Biggs Cemetery on January, 29th 2022 @12 noon.
