Obituary of Julie Lynn Mattos
Julie Mattos of Gridley, CA passed away on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at the age of 53 years old. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, as well as ‘JuJu’ and ‘Julie Wonka’ to those that knew and loved her.
Julie will be forever remembered by her precious children Denver (Kelsey) Mattos, Jena (Cody) Heitman, and Hannah Heitman, parents Tony & Patty Mattos, and siblings Tim (Valerie) Mattos, Corina (Eric) Waterbury, Tonya (Donnie) Nuchols, and Randy (Kelly) Hughes. She’ll also be remembered by her nieces and nephews Garrett (Jacquie) Mattos, Chase (Whitney) Waterbury, Dustin (Jeannie) Mattos, Brittany, Haiden (Savana) Waterbury, Ashleigh Evenson, Dalton Evenson, Samantha (Justin) Waterbury, Mady Mattos and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Julie was born on May 9th, 1968 in Gridley, CA. She attended Biggs High School, where she was well-known for her extraordinary athletic abilities, excelling in basketball and softball. Julie was also exceptionally well-liked and easily made friends everywhere she went. She was also especially creative and crafty, an avid collector, and had a penchant for beautiful penmanship. Everything she did was for her children, whom she loved more than anything.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at 10am at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery gazebo, followed by a private burial service for immediate family. Open reception will be held at the Butte County Fairgrounds Expo Hall.
