Obituary of Ronald Max Libby

Ronald Max Libby was born on February 20, 1935, in Denair, CA to Glenn and Opal Libby. Ron finished his life here on earth and went to heaven on September 19, 2021, in Oroville, CA. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. Ron’s lifelong commitment to his faith will be remembered as a servant of Jesus through his church, on the mission field and in his community. After retiring, he and his wife, Doris, served as volunteer missionaries in 6 countries including several trips to Ecuador, Kenya and Papua New Guinea. Ron loved sports. He was a three-sport athlete in school. Fast pitch softball was his passion from 1949-1990. He also loved to fish and was creative in stained glass art. Ron and Doris, his wife of 67 years, lived in Oroville, CA since 1967. The family consists of his sons Donald (Lynn) Libby of Washoe Valley, NV and Daniel (Denise) Libby of Oroville, CA and daughter Colleen (Steve) Slaight of Lincoln, NE; his 7 grandchildren and their spouses, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donald Libby, and sister, Linda Walton.
