I send you all my deepest condolences. I worked with Emily for three years, sitting across the table from her in DESS. She was my mentor, then my supervisor for five short months and always my friend. Her grace and dignity was apparent to all and she was always there when you needed a shoulder. I have missed her every day since she left DESS. Tried to talk her into coming back many times. Her inner beauty was only eclipsed by her out beauty. She was one of the sweetest, dearest people I have ever met; almost too good for this world. God has called one of his angels home…all too prematurely. Good journey, Emily, you be remembered in our hearts forever and isn’t that the true definition of immortality?

Emily you have made such a beautiful impact in my life and many others I’m sure of it I will cherish all the wonderful memories we made together Black Friday shopping going to the Chico music theater performance you were always the one getting us together to go watch a new musical show our coffee outings. Always lending a helping hand when it came to painting my house sanding and staining my floors I could go on and on about what remarkable amazing godly woman you were. You will truly be missed and loved looking forward to that special day when we will get to meet and hug we love you so much may you Rest In Peace sweet Aunty

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't work directly with Emily, but had come into contact with her several times over the years here at Butte County DESS. She was always kind and willing to share any information she had. I appreciated her help on many occasions and sincerely wish she could have shared more of her knowledge and expertise. I hope you all have enough wonderful memories of her to last a lifetime. I'm sure she would only want you to smile and laugh when you think of her. I hope you all remember the warmth she provided you whenever the sunshine sets upon your shoulders, and know that she is still there for you whenever you look up.

Emily was a class act. She was truly patient and most kind. She saw the good and focused on the positive and wouldn’t give much mind to negative thoughts. She was an awesome supervisor, I felt so lucky to have had her as my Supervisor for that time that I had her. She really made me feel welcomed to come to her and talk with her. She was truly one of the best and everyone that knew her could agree. A true example of a leader with grace. She always had my back and was extremely fair. She had that rare human trait of being able to actually listen. She had so much knowledge and even more amazing was her patience to really make sure you understood and had what you needed. She followed through and was extremely accountable. She was so proud to be a mother to her daughters and when she found out about her granddaughter she was so very happy and full of pride. Emily though she was extremely busy and focused here at General Services, she would still take the time and come by once in a while, just to check in and chat briefly. She wasn’t always chatty but was wonderful to talk to when those conversations occurred and they always felt super special. She had an air of mystery that I can only blame myself for not stopping her more often to engage to peel away those layers piece by piece to truly know more the beautiful soul she was and always will be.... I really truly admired her, looked up to her and we are all at such a loss with her passing. I love you Emily always and forever To her friends and family you have my love and prayers. Melissa Davis
