Obituary
Obituary of Marian Louise Miller
Marian Louise Miller was born to John F. LaTorra and Agnes E. Miles LaTorra on July 11, 1920 in Boulder, Colorado, and died in Pleasant Hill, California on April 21, 2021 at the age of 100 years and 9 months. Marian grew up in Boulder and graduated from Boulder High School. She attended the Colorado University, graduating in 1942. In 1941, she married Vern Miller, a student/athlete also attending Colorado University in Boulder.
Marian and Vern had four children: David, Michael, Marilyn and Joan, who they raised while living in Menlo Park and San Mateo. Marian cherished time with family: the four children, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
After Vern's retirement in 1982, they moved to Paradise, California where they lived happily until Vern passed away in 2013 at age 95. Marian then moved to a senior living facility in Pleasant Hill, living there for five years.
In February of 2018, she moved into her daughter Marilyn's, and son-in-law, Fred's, home in Martinez, where she resided until June 2020. She then moved to a nearby board and care home where she was visited daily by her children.
Faith and family meant everything to Marian, and she especially enjoyed spending many, many holiday celebrations at family gatherings.
May she rest in Peace.
Marian will be buried with her husband at Magalia Cemetery in a private family graveside service. A Celebration of Life will be held in Pleasant Hill at a later date.
