Obituary of Kathleen Joyce Waterbury

Private services will be held for Kathleen Joyce Waterbury, 72 of Gridley. She passed away on Sunday March 7, 2021 in Gridley. She was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. After High School she went to Yuba College, where she met and fell in love with her future husband Stanley Waterbury. Gridley was where they came to grow their life together. Later in life their kids Joseph, Kelly, and dog “Daisy” came and it completed Kathy. They were the light of her life. Kathy took thousands of movies and pictures, and you could tell just how happy and joyful she was, spending time with her family. Kathy’s sense of humor was well known as much as her love. Her laugh was nothing short of contagious. She went to great lengths to help other people and cared genuinely about everyone in her life. If you knew her you were family. In later years Kathy was a devoted grandmother “Nana” to her 6 beautiful grandchildren. She was very passionate in always making time to play and babysit her grandkids. Her other passions consisted of being a swim team mom, gardener, painter, house cleaner, and amazing shop mom to their employees. The amount of memories and stories of this woman could never be encompassed in a short summary. To those that shared memories with her will always cherish those moments. From throwing mop buckets, to laughing hysterically with family, or just giving you a hug, Kathy will always be known to being a great woman to those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellery and Margaret Hansen, and her sister Gail Robinson. She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Waterbury, son Joseph (Kelly) and their children, Joseph, Madison, Grace, Fiona, and Theodore Waterbury all of Gridley, daughter Kelly (Oscar) Rodriguez and their children Lola, and Oliver Rodriguez, also of Gridley.
