My deepest condolences on the passing of your mom. Auntie Elva had a spirit that was so special and unique its hard to put into words. I can say that when you were with her she made you feel like you were the only person in the room. You had her undivided attention. I've uploaded one of my favorite pictures which was taken approx. 18 years ago. You can see from this picture which was taken right after a dune buggy ride in the Grand Marias area of Manitoba that she was up for any adventure no matter her age and Joe was right along side for the fun. Left to right Kevin (Kim's husband), David Jr. (Brenda and Dave's son), Elva, Roger (Isla & Earl's son), Joe, little guy is Luke (Kevin & Kim's eldest son) up top Adam (Roger & Kerry's son), Dave Sr. (Brenda's husband). BEST DAY EVER. They drove down from California in that giant motor home and we had the best week EVER. Really got to reconnect. This would be the last time I physically saw Auntie Elva and Joe.
Many memories of going out to Ontario and being on the houseboat with Auntie and in her second hand store and visits when she came to Winnipeg to see my parents Isla and Earl.
Attached is also a poem my mom (Isla wrote about her and Elva's childhood) and Elva cross stitch and framed for Isla the poem that meant so much to her. We hold this treasure and all the memories with it.
Hold tight to the joyous memories of your mom as they will bring solace during this difficult time. Kim and family
