Obituary of Donald George Forgey II
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.” - Edgar Allan Poe
Don Forgey II passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2021, at age 68. Poe's poem, “The Raven”, with its themes of love, loss and death was very meaningful to Don throughout his life.
Born March 27, 1952 to Don and Elizabeth Forgey, Don was a bright and curious child. As an adolescent and young adult he was rebellious, frequently in trouble for a myriad of reasons. He graduated Thousand Oaks High School in 1970 and worked construction for many years throughout California. He was adept at all trades. He ultimately settled in Oroville, where he also tended to the needs of his parents until their deaths in 1997 and 2010. For the last 13 years of his work life, he worked the night shift at Roplast in Oroville.
Don was imaginative and creative. He could fix anything and could build something from nothing. Loving animals, he would care for any and all that he encountered. Don had an affinity for the macabre, with a somewhat twisted sense of humor.. He was proudly opinionated. Don was very much a “giver,” often to his detriment.
Don is survived by his sister, Patti Cisco, of Santa Rosa, California.
May he rest in peace.
