Obituary of Sharon Katherine Mize

Her Legacy… Sharon Katherine Mize passed peacefully into the light of the Lord with family by her side on January 14, 2021. She was 84 years old. She was born on August 24, 1936 in Saranac Lake, New York. Sharon met the love of her life Frank Mize in 1955 and on October 5, 1955, they were married. In 1962 they moved to Oroville. Sharon was a homemaker until the children were grown and then she went to work in the business office of Oroville Hospital. She worked there for 12 years. Sharon was a devoted Christian who put her faith in God and believed in the power of prayer. She loved angels and butterflies and she had large collections of both. Sharon was a very social person with many friends. Sharon enjoyed listening to the Old Time Fiddlers and attending community events such as Feather Fiesta Days and the Salmon Festival. She loved to go to the Senior Center with her sister-in-law Judy Wroten to play bingo and socialize with others. Sharon will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her Family… Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Joseph “Frank” Mize Sr., her son Daniel Mize and her daughter Caroline Franklin. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Sharon) Mize Jr., her daughter, Kathy Ziemer, brother Gary (Judy) Wroten, sisters-in-law, Eleanor Jefferson and Sharon (Albert) Snider, brother-in-law, Malvin (Sue) Mize, son-in-law, Jeff Franklin, grandsons, Drew Christensen, Scott Franklin, Joseph Mize III and Brent (Elizabeth) Mize, granddaughter, Jolene Gilman, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her Farewell Service… There will be a Celebration of Life for Sharon later this year when it is safe to do so. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
