Obituary of Albert Louis Witzsche
On Thursday, January 14, 2021, Albert Louis Witzsche; loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at the age of 89.
Al was born on April 19, 1931, in Little Field, TX to Joseph and Teresa Witzsche. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1949-1953 where he met his late wife Mary Witzsche. They were married for 43 years and raised two daughters, Teri and Cathy, and one son, Richard. Their children gave them nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Al was a carpenter, craftsman, and cabinet maker by trade and built cabinets that are still in use across Oroville today. He was an avid fisherman, a hunter, a collector of antique cars, and a gardener. He was a hardworking man and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was a loving father and grandfather who instilled his industrious and creative spirit into future generations. He was known for his quick wit and his quirky sarcasm. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, member of Veterans of Foreign War, and an active member of St. Thomas Church (known for cooking corned beef and cabbage during the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations).
Albert was preceded in death by his wife Mary Witzsche, daughter Terri Witzsche, grandson Timothy Witzsche, granddaughter Elizabeth Marie, brother Gerald Witzsche, brother Joe Junior Witzsche, and brother Charles Paul.
