Obituary of Dortha Mae Sharp

Her Legacy… Dortha Mae Sharp was born on April 17, 1928 to Oma and Minnie Fain in Mill Fay, Oklahoma. Dortha passed away on January 8, 2021 in Oroville, California. She worked at PCP for 32 years and after retiring as “Grandma” at Mooretown Rancheria Pre School. This was a job she loved, being surrounded by children. Dortha always had plenty of love to go around. Dortha embodied the love of Jesus Christ, not as much in word but in deed. Always ready to serve others, loving to all she had the chance to encounter. Hospitality was her specialty even when not having much herself, she was always willing to open her home to help or encourage others. She always was able to find the good in others and loved others unconditionally. Much like Daniel she had an “excellent spirit”. Dortha’s children, their children and their children have been beneficiaries of portions of this spirit. Thank you Grammy for this wonderful heritage. We know Jesus greeted her with “Enter in my good and faithful servant”. Her Family… Dortha is survived by her five children, Barbara Balmer, Diana Sherwood, Dewane McConnell, Gordon McConnell and Cathy Sanders. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Dortha is preceded in death by her husband, parents and four brothers. Her Farewell Service… Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Christian Faith Center, 7695 Melvina Ave. Palermo, CA with Burial to follow at Memorial Park, 5646 Lincoln Blvd., Oroville, California.
