Obituary of Joyce Francine Sperry
Her Legacy… Joyce Francine Sperry was born on August 5, 1941 in Summit, New Jersey to Joseph Thomas Dante and Sara Frances Idore. Joyce passed away on March 11, 2016 in Oroville, California with her family by her side. She married William Hopfer in 1962 having her first two children Gilbert and Karen. In 1969 Joyce was remarried to Robert Sperry together they had her third child Raymond. Joyce was a homemaker raising her three children with her husband Robert until his death in 2001. She went to culinary school and worked in the food industry for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, movies and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed but always remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and auntie.
Her Family… Joyce is survived by her loving children, Gilbert (Brenda) Hopfer, Raymond (Stephanie) Sperry all of Oroville, CA; and Karen (Edward) Bearden of Marion, KY; her grandchildren, Melissa Hopfer (Betty), Brittany (Steven) Hacker, Mariah Hopfer all of Marion, IL; Lindsey (Rhdy) Igot, Brian Newsom, Kylie Newsom, Brandon Newsom, all of Oroville, CA; four great grandchildren, her sisters, Carma Linda Missamore of Taft, CA; Patricia Coley of Colorado, her brother Gilbert Dante of Napa, CA; Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Robert Sperry, sister Claudette Bear and grandchildren Jessica and Jeffery Bohrn.
Her Farewell Service…A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Wynn Memorial Church of God in Christ 2528 D Street Oroville, CA. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
