Obituary of Robert Edward McNabb Jr.

Robert Edward McNabb Jr. December 7, 1934- December 14, 2020 Robert Edward McNabb Jr. of Marysville, CA passed away peacefully from this life on Monday December 14, 2020 and has now rejoined his beloved wife Margaret Lucille McNabb who preceded him in death on July 23, 2020. Robert was born December 7, 1934 to Mary Isabel and Robert Edward McNabb Sr. in Catoosa, Ok. Robert was the oldest of four sons. As a young man Robert’s family moved around quite a bit. While in the then small town of Prunedale, CA he met, courted, and married the love of his life Margaret. Together they loved, laughed and lived. This year they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Robert and Margaret moved to Oroville in the 70’s and settled in Palermo on 10 beautiful acres with a small pistachio orchard. If one was to look for Robert you could always find him tinkering in his garage; building, fixing or creating a treasure. Robert was a very humble, talented craftsman and too critical of his creations. The rest of the family would look on in amazement at the beautiful treasures he created, mostly to gift to family. Robert could and did fix just about anything. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family. He rode bikes with his wife and grandchildren. He’d float the Feather River with his brothers and their wives. He took his family out to Mile-Long to fish and swim in the summer time. He also enjoyed taking his great grandchildren into the garage to help them create birdhouses or he'd let them play on the treadmill or his motorized scooter while he tinkered. Robert and Margaret enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to visit friends across country and loved visiting national parks and museums on their way. Robert also enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sunrises and the sunsets with his wife more times than not. He would speak of his family history and the amazing people who shaped him into the man he was. Though he was strong physically and in opinion, there was always kindness in his eyes and love in his heart. Robert is survived by his children: Rebecca Hunt (Marysville, CA), Robert M. McNabb (Queensland, AUS), and Deborah Durnell (Palermo, CA), his brothers Jerry E. McNabb (Twin Falls, ID), Billy R. McNabb (King City, CA), 8 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. McNabb Sr., Mary Isabel McNabb, his brother David A. McNabb, Sr. and his loving wife Margaret L. McNabb. Robert’s family will be celebrating his life, his memory, and his inspiration privately. In lieu of flowers the family is sharing Robert's request that those funds be used to go out and do something you enjoy doing and while you’re out, take a moment and share a memory of Robert.
