Obituary of Glen Edward Lockhart
Glen was called home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was born in Fresno California to Emmon and Norma Lockhart. Glen graduated from Gridley High School in 1948, after his service to his country in the U.S. Army, returned to Gridley and in 1958 married the love of his life, Mary. Together they lived in Empire Nevada, Anderson California, and after 30+ years with Simpson Paper Company, Glen retired and they moved “back home” to Gridley California to be closer to family.
Glen is survived by his sons, Randy, Glen (Charlotte), Allan, and daughter Terrea; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, his brother, Donald (Wanda) Lockhart and sister Dorothy (Joe) McMillan. His nephews, Paul Coates, Steve Lockhart, Raymond Upton and niece Mary (Stan) Womack were very important to him as were his other 14 nieces and 4 nephews. Glens beloved Mary and brothers; Brant (Geneva), Vernon (Betty), Tommy (Paula) have all gone on before Glen.
The family wants to express a special Thank You to the Staff of Hovlid Community Care Center for their excellent care for Glen during this past year and especially during the difficult times caused by the COVID pandemic.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 21, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chape1. A private burial will be held Tuesday, December 22nd in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
