Obituary of Albert Lee Worley Sr.
His Legacy… Albert Lee Worley SR, 83, died of natural causes November 7, 2020 with his family by his side in Fernley, Nevada. Mr. Worley was born November 2, 1937 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to William and Lena Worley. They moved to California in 1947. He attended Polytechnic High School in Riverside, California where he met the love of his life Betty Elrod. After graduation, they married and started their family. Albert was a printer most of his career. He worked at the Colton Courier in Riverside and was a co-owner of a small newspaper in Norco, California until 1967. He moved his family to Brownsville, California where he took a job at the Sacramento Bee for about a year and then took a job at the Oroville Mercury Register and moved his family to Oroville. He worked there about 30 years often helping out at the Paradise Post on weekends. After he retired, he became a self-employed landscaper. He did this until he was 81 years old. He loved working outside so much. Albert loved Jesus and touched the lives of everyone he met with his faith. Most felt that they had known him for a long time. He found the good in everyone, never judged and always gave a helping hand. He was hardworking, selfless and a devoted father. He loved drag racing, fishing and gardening. Most of all he looked forward every summer to vacationing in Florence, Oregon with family and friends. He enjoyed camping and riding his quad in the sand dunes. This past year was his 42nd year. He loved all kids, especially the babies. He will forever be remembered for the sweet smile he was famous for.
His Family… Mr. Worley is survived by his sons Albert Worley Jr. (Bernadette), Jeffery Worley (Belinda), and Kenneth Worley (Stacy), daughters Susanne Hyde (Mike), Kim Turner (Edmond) and Joanne Owens (Billy). Albert had 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father William Worley, his mother Lena Worley, his wife Betty Worley, his brothers William Worley, Robert Worley, his sisters Betty Hutchinson, Lela Mae Hansen and Maxine Shamblin, his grandson Jeffery Worley Jr. and great grandson Adam Villaibos.
