Obituary of Edward Thomas

Edward Thomas, 84, passed away on October 11, 2020 in Oroville, California. Edward Thomas, Sr. was born July 9, 1936 in Winston Salem, NC. Edward was one of six children born to the late James Henry Thomas, Sr. and Irene Thomas. A few years later the family moved to New York where Edward (aka Eddie) finished High School. After H.S, Eddie enlisted in the army in 1953 and retired after twenty years. While in the service he continued his education with an Associates and Bachelor of Science degree in the field of engineering. While stationed in Japan, Eddie met and married Chieno Takimura and from that union three children were born. After several years, the marriage was dissolved. While still in the military and stationed in Korea, he met and married Sun Cha Pae and from this union two children were born. Shortly after returning from the Army, Eddie was employed at Allied Signal Aerospace in Long Beach. After eleven years of employment, he retired as a Senior Product Service Technician and Specialist. Now, it was time to enjoy life on his terms. He enjoyed his hobbies which were Ham Radio Operator, music, and reading all kinds of books. He enjoyed seeing his family grow with grandchildren. Eddie had a great sense of humor and he was a giver by nature, willing to help anyone in need. Eddie will be greatly missed and remembered by his family including but not limited to his children, Susan, Edward, Jr. (Lois), Alec, Mealing (Eric), Marc (Kristin), and Clarence. Grandchildren, Tieu Mylo, Garrett, Vanessa, Ziah Noel, Elijah, Melanie Lea, Selena, Marc Bae. God Daughter, Lucia. Brothers and sisters, Mary, (who preceded him in death), James, Louise, Clarence (Josephine), and Phyllis (Eugene). Also, a host of nephews and nieces and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held on November 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson St., Oroville, California. Arrangments have been entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877
