Obituary of Linda Sue Taverner

Linda Sue Mackey-Taverner was born on September 8, 1950, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Dorothy and Glen Mackey. Linda passed away peacefully in her home on October 6, 2020 in Oroville, California at the age of 70 years old. She was a proud and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Linda had an entrepreneurial spirit in the business world where she successfully started her own environmental company. Over time, her company was recognized as an outstanding compliment to a larger nationwide engineering firm, which merged with her business in 2003. At that time, she had over 20 employees. In her free time and into retirement, she spent many days embraced in her hobbies, as she loved to quilt and knit. She had a great love and compassion for all animals, wild and domestic, which included her cats and dogs. She also had a great love for gardening and canning the fruits of her labors, which she shared with family, friends and neighbors while watching her kids and grandkids grow up. Linda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Monte Vista Avenue in Oroville. She was an active member and was very proud of her being asked to speak and teach at the Sunday services. Linda is survived by her husband Bruce Taverner of Oroville; her sister Karla Benjamin of Elk Mound, WI; her son Jeff Beede of Scottsdale, AZ and daughter Mindy Meronek of Windsor, CA; Grandson Jake Verdier of Grass Valley, CA and granddaughter Tina Beede of Scottsdale AZ, grandsons Jaxson and Ryder Meronek of Windsor, CA and great-grandson Blaze Verdier of Grass Valley, CA along with lots of family and friends. A Memorial and Visitation Service is scheduled for Tuesday October 13, 2020, from 2:00 PM and 5:00 pm at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson St., Oroville, CA, followed by a Graveside Service on Wednesday October 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery 5646 Lincoln Blvd Oroville. Linda respectfully requested that contributions be made to the church in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
