Obituary of Lorene Woodward

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery for Lorene Woodward, 97 of Gridley. She passed away January 21, 2016 at Orchard Hospital in Gridley. Lorene was born on October 3, 1918 in West Texas to James and Ollie Davis. Lorene was a long time resident of Gridley. She owned and operated three second hand stores in Gridley over the years. She enjoyed painting and was a gifted artist and won many first place ribbons at the fair, she also enjoyed fishing, hiking and teaching Sunday school. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Gridley. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Claude Woodward, three sons, Gene Woodward, Larry Woodward, and Wayne Woodward. Lorene is survived by three sons, Corlis Marchbanks of Oroville, CA. Hermie Marchbanks of Springville, CA, Ray (Barbara) Woodward of Clovis CA., one sister Bernice Jarnagin of Gridley, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tim Bledsoe of the United Pentecostal Church will officiate the service. Family suggests contributions can be made to the United Pentecostal Church of Gridley.
