Obituary of Irma Jean Johnston

Her Legacy…Irma Jean Johnston was born on July 2, 1933 in Nubieber, CA to Girld and Agnes Burk. Irma passed away on March 21, 2020 in Oroville, CA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Irma was an avid reader and loved working crossword puzzles and doing latchhook projects. She loved the plants and trees in her yard and looked forward to family gatherings, especially yard parties. Her Family…Irma is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stewart Johnston of Oroville, CA. ; son Ron Friend (Ruby) of Louisiana; daughter Sherry McKenzie of Oroville, Ca.; daughter Mary Brownlee of Oroville, CA; grandchildren Jennifer McKenzie, Clint Brownlee, Matt McKenzie, and Shannon Herron; great-grandchildren Jeremiah McKenzie-Elven, Courtney McKenzie Fuller, Wyatt Herron, and Tommy Brownlee; several nieces and nephews, as well as dear friend Kelly McNichols. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elza Friend, her parents and her two brothers, Jerry and Bill Burk. Her Farewell Service…Irma requested no services, but her family is looking forward to gathering in her honor for a Celebration of Life yard party.
