Obituary of Edith Marie Dillard

A service will be held at a later date for Edith Marie Pifer Dillard, 97 of Gridley. She passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2020 in Oroville, CA. She was born September 12, 1922 in Fayetteville, AR to Bert and Cora Pifer. Marie married Wesley Wayne Dillard on August 10, 1943 in Dothan, AL. They moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1953, and lived there until their move to Gridley in 1968. She graduated from Newberry Cosmetology School in Oct 1961. She loved her English walnut trees, blackberry vines and roses. She was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, one son Larry Dillard, and one grandson James Dillard. She is survived by one son Jim (Marge) Dillard of Sacramento, CA, her daughter-in-law Cheryl Dillard of Gridley, four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Private interment will be held in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Contributions in Marie’s honor can be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
