Obituary of James Everett Eslick

His legacy – James Everett Eslick (Papa) passed away on March 2, 2020. He was born on September 12, 1928 to James and Lottie Eslick. He was raised with his brothers Gene and Edgar in Henryetta, Oklahoma and Yuba City, California. He served in the Korean War as an Air Force Radar Operator from 1950 to 1954. He married his wife Lola Dean Woodward on April 2, 1953 at Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was stationed until his honorable discharge. He moved to Oroville in 1958, where he raised three children with Lola. He was employed as a banker at several banks throughout Northern California for over 25 years. He also played bass guitar with a local band during his early years in Oroville. Throughout his life, he was a self-taught man; anything he wanted to do, he researched it, then aced it! He loved running, walking, listening to and playing music, reading anything, woodworking, gardening, visiting the VFW, and dispensing advice (he was usually right). He was known for his generosity, helpfulness, intelligence, and dedication to his family. His family – He is survived by his children Charles Eslick (Martha), Randy Eslick (Linda), and Michelle Medford (Rick); grandchildren Amber, Charles, Eliseo, Jill, Briana, Michael, Phillip, Morgan, Erin, Kyle, Denton, Christopher, Krystina, Malachi, and Nathaniel; great grandchildren Amber, Marissa, Derek, Devin, Audrey, Brett, Alen, Anyia, Tristen, and Ariadne; and great-great granddaughter Paisley. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and wife Lola. His Farewell – A private inurnment for family will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
