She gave me a bottle of water towards the end of this year’s Do You Even Halloween Bro? She asked if I had a ride home and I lied, saying yes. I’d never gone to an Oroville party before and got a little lost trying to find my way back to Chico, driving a car I wasn’t used to, at around 2am. I keep thinking about her question, though, ‘do I have a ride home?’
We met again the following Friday. Then she paid for my entrance to a club, and I learned her name. (Probably for the second time.) She asked me a tough question and I can’t even remember what it was, now, but my answer made her smile. ...Something about right and wrong? Morality? ...
The last time I saw her was that same Friday, later on at another Halloween party, in a patio area. I had my back to the main path in between the bathrooms and backdoors, and she walked past me. I left pretty soon after.
Honestly, I didn’t know her very well, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget her either. Thank you, Erin
