Obituary of Hazel Loraine Jernigan
Her Legacy… Hazel Jernigan was born on March 9, 1932 in Sacramento California to Harry and Myrtle Lehman. Mom went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2019 in Oroville, California. She passed away at the age of 87 after a brief battle with cancer. Hazel attended grammar school and high school in Sacramento CA. In 1948 she married the love of her life Lee, and they remained happily married for 71 years. Hazel enjoyed many aspects of life, but she had three main passions in her life. Faithful service to God and her church, unconditional love and dedication to her family, and she loved gardening. She loved planting flowers, pulling weeds and just spending time outside in their yard. Hazel was a Life Member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 55 years. Hazel was a stay at home mom but was always recognized as the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Executive Officer of our household. She was as loving as any mother or friend could be, but she was also a ferocious protector/defender of her five boys.
