Uncle Jesse was a true mentor and friend. He taught my brother and I the precise art of wood working. From the beginning, he critiqued our drawings, helped us choose the proper wood stock from his supply, and then taught us how to use all of his tools. Yes, we spent plenty of time planing and sanding to get the joints just so. After our projects we learned the value of keeping the shop clean and broom swept. All of his gentle teachings have inspired me throughout my life and helped shape me into the person l am today. I remember particularly well his gifted talent on the violin. While working, he would hum tunes from the great composers and then after a day in the shop he would escape to his place in his home and begin to play the most beautiful music I'd ever heard on his violin. My sincerest respects for his immediate family. Uncle Jesse left a legacy that we all ought emulate. Warmest regards, Nathan (son of Charlene Clyde Gile)
