Obituary of Avalynn Hope Wallace
At 8.30 pm on Sunday, October 6th, 2019, seven-year-old Avalynn Hope Wallace went home to be with Jesus. After a three-year battle with AML leukemia, our beautiful, sweet, spunky little girl passed away peacefully in her mom and dad's arms, surrounded by family.
Avalynn was born on April 17th, 2012 in Oroville, California to Louie and Nicole (Orsillo) Wallace. From a tiny child, she overflowed with life, fun and feistiness. This girl did not lack personality! She was playful, determined, passionate and ‘spicy’.
Avalynn was quick and witty. She would leave you speechless in her humor. She would get her Dad good with comments such as "Dad don't be a scallywag" , or "Dad don't be a meatloaf."
Avalynn was beyond her years. One time in the hospital she demanded the doctor call her parents before she would take her medicine because her parents never told her that medicine was okay to take. The doctor called very confused as why they needed permission. Sure enough this was not a medicine that she had taken or one that she needed.
She was adored and loved by every person who met her, even if only for 5 minutes.
During her many hospital stays and long recovery periods, Avalynn withstood her difficult circumstances with joy, hope and feisty determination. She loved to sing songs that expressed her struggle with lines such as “this is my fight song” and “fear is a liar”. She let many friends join her in her journey, staying with her in hospital, shaving their heads to match hers, and sharing all kinds of games and jokes. Many people fell in love with her warm, spunky personality as they witnessed her journey through her photos and videos on social media.
Avalynn died knowing Jesus. She knew him and talked to Him as a real person who comforted her and told her the truth when she was sad or afraid. Her family finds great peace in knowing Avalynn is now living a life of freedom, well and happy with Jesus in heaven. They look forward to joining her there one day.
Avie’s life will be treasured and missed by her parents Louis and Nicole, and her two sisters Briella, 9 and Emberlee 5, her maternal Grandparents Steve and Vicki Orsillo, and paternal grandpa Louis Wallace Sr. and the countless thousands of people that her life touched around the world.
All are invited to a potluck picnic memorial service, which will be held outdoors at 3556 Oro Bangor Highway on Saturday, October 26th. The event begins with dinner and games at 3.30pm, with a formal closed casket ceremony taking place at 5.30pm.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, please consider donating to a fundraiser to create Avie’s Place, a lego-themed playground to be built in Avalynn’s honor. Checks can be made payable to the Father’s House Church, memo “Avie’s Place” or online donations can be made via the Avalynn’s Hope facebook page. Gifts of potted plants, trees, benches or other park supplies may be brought to the memorial.
