Obituary of Florence Lorraine Erickson
Her Legacy. . . Lorraine passed away on August 31, 2019 in Oroville. She had lived in Chico for more than 20 years. Previously, Lorraine had lived in Southern California for almost 25 years. Florence Lorraine Hinshaw was born in Gridley California on September 7, 1934. Her parents were Chester and Gertrude Hinshaw. Lorraine married Arthur Erickson and spent most of her life raising her 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Some of her grandchildren affectionately called her Grammy. Lorraine loved to play tennis, work in her garden, read a good mystery novel and make quilts. Lorraine was an extremely accomplished seamstress. She could make something beautiful out of any material, with or without a pattern. During the Fall and Winter months, she would spend her Sunday mornings quilting and watching football. In the evenings, Lorraine enjoyed making cookies from one her favorite excellent recipes.
Her Family. . . Lorraine is survived by her sister Diana, brother Chet and husband Art. She is also survived by her four children: Arthur, Patricia, Rick and Susan, along with her six grandchildren: Jessica, Brittany, Sean, Desiree, Amanda and Bryan, and two great grandchildren: Ronnie and Giselle.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward, Sister Eva and son Bobby Glenn.
Her Graveside Farewell Service. . . will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery off HIghway 99 in Gridley California. Arrangement are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home (530) 534-3877
