Obituary of Lloyd Eugene Pickering
His Legacy… Lloyd Eugene Pickering went into the arms of the Lord on Monday July 15, 2019 in Oroville, California. He was born in Hastings, Nebraska on March 3, 1936 to Rex and Sylvia (Henkel) Pickering. His family moved to California in 1947. He graduated from Oroville High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, Stacie (Robertson) Pickering on January 5, 1957. He was in the National Guard and a volunteer at El Medio Fire Department. He worked several jobs during his lifetime, with some being, Curriers Brothers, Pepsi Cola, and Solano Rail before he became owner/operator of Lloyd’s Auto Repair. He worked there for over 20 years before retiring. He had many hobbies, but most remembered for restoring old cars. He was a member of many car clubs, The Road Knights, Golden Feather Model A Club, Americana Corvette Club, and Oro Dam Cruisers. He bowled for many years in league bowling at Central Lanes Bowling Alley. He was a long time faithful church member at Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He started working out at the gym about 16 years ago and continued to, five days a week, up until recently due to illness. He had a great sense of humor, was a hard worker, always keeping busy. His main passion in life was his unconditional love and dedication to his family. He will be greatly missed by his many loved ones and friends.
His Family… Lloyd is survived by his three children, Vicki (Carlos) Trahin, Craig Pickering, Kevin (Tina) Pickering all of Oroville, CA; grandchildren, Carlos Trahin Jr., Adrienne (Chris) Solari, Tyson, Stacie and Kylee Pickering, Marissa (Kevin) Hallen, Chad and Jacob Pickering, three step granddaughters, Amanda, Markie and Chelsea, along with 17 great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard and Rex (Ruth) Pickering of Oroville, CA; sister-in-law Vesta Robertson of Riverbank, CA; brother-in-law, Conie (Joyce) Robertson of Reno, NV; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, sisters, Laura and Edith, and several brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s and nieces and nephews.
His Farewell Service… Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville. His Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd Oroville. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
