Obituary of Leslie Anne Hastings

Her Legacy… Leslie Anne Hastings was born on June 15, 1957, in Peoria, Illinois. She peacefully completed her journey on earth on May 22, 2019 at UCSF in San Francisco, California after a short battle with breast cancer. Throughout her sixty-one-year journey here, she kept strong to her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior until her last breath. She was loved deeply by her husband, Bobby, who cared for her through the journey until the very end, constantly showing the true love connection they shared. Leslie and her son, Brian, always affirmed to each other the special connection between mother and child, and they showed that connection very naturally. Leslie was an incredible mother and wife, who would always put her family before herself, in any situation. She was a selfless individual that could make friends with anybody she met. A proud Speech Therapist for the Oroville Hospital for 24 years, Leslie earned her Masters’ degree in Speech Pathology from CSU, Chico in 1995, the same year she and Bobby were married. Leslie loved exploring, and was a huge fan of the national parks in our country. Some of her favorites that she visited with Bobby and Brian were Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Glacier National Park. She also loved the wildlife, and among her favorite was the moose she was able to see in Wyoming. Another annual trip she loved was the family trip to Monterey every Easter vacation. Leslie was a wonderful woman who always had a smile on her face, always telling her family the simple phrase, “Stay positive.”

Her Family… Leslie is survived by her husband Bobby of Oroville, CA; her son Brian of Oroville, CA; her son Michael of Oakland, CA; her daughter Angela of Long Beach, CA; her father Ken Waibel of Oroville, CA; as well as her beloved pets; dog, Max, and kitties Kami and Momo, as well as her extended family at Dove’s Landing at Oroville Hospital.
