Obituary of Doris Barbara Adams

Doris B. Adams, 76, passed away on Tuesday morning  April 2, 2019 in Oroville, California.

Her Legacy… Doris did a lot of different things in her life including waitressing, bartending and working at the cannery. She even worked in the fields picking fruit; she would do anything to provide for her 6 children.  But the one thing she was great at was being a single mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother for 31 years.  She loved spending time outside planting flowers and making a vegetable garden. She loved to going camping and going on long drives in the hills. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Our mother was very strict and sometime mean. But I would not have changed anything about her because I wouldn’t be the women I am today if it wasn’t for her. I am so proud to call Doris Lee Adams Ford my mother. 

Her Family…Doris Lee Adams is survived by her children Frank Lewis Sherman Jr, Cheryl Dean Sherman, Lavinia Mae McArthur, Sharmon Valerie Sherman and Sally Ann Sherman. Her siblings Ronald Eugene Ford, Shirley Ann Ford, Rosa Jane Ford, Beverly Jean Ford, Laura Ford, Carol Denise Marchut, and Karen Elaine Marchut VanNess.  As well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Doris is preceded in death by her son Johnny Ray Sherman, her parent Doris Margaret Ford and Fred Melvin Ford Sr. as well as her sister Janet Sue Ford and brothers Fred Melvin Ford Jr and Eugene Ford.

Her Farewell Service… A visitation will be held today, April 18, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Oroville Funeral Home. A Graveside Farewell Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno California, at 2:00 pm.
