Obituary of Myrtle Marie Dutra

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 4, 2015, 11:00 am at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery, for Myrtle M. Dutra, 87 of Gridley California. She passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 in Chico California of natural causes. She was born April 17, 1928 in Butler OK., one of nine children born to Albert and Katie Sharp. She was a longtime resident of Gridley, having worked many years at the Gridley Café and Smorgie. She was active in the community, having volunteered for the Red Cross, American Legion Sports and Portuguese’s organizations. She managed serval rentals around Gridley. She enjoyed hard top car races, supporting family in the races. She was a life member of the Moose Lodge, having held many positions. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ralph O. Crain, and Joseph Dutra, four brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, Bennie Pruitt, (Betty) of Live Oak CA., Olin Crain (Barbara) of Orland CA., one daughter, Marlyn Stopplemore of Gridley CA., numerous grand and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pastor Dwight Deaton of Christian Life Assembly of God Church will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 5:00 pm til 8:00pm at the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery.
