What a wonderful man! I so enjoyed working with Bob here at Oroville Hospital. He was a man with great knowledge of which gave me confidence to go to him with a variety of issues in my department. He always had an answer - even if it was an explanation as to why the answer was "no." The stories he would share of his life in the military, his family, and his work were always entertaining and well spoken.
Shortly after I became the director of my department, Bob spent quite a bit of time with me trying to figure out how we could add a yogurt machine, toasters, etc. to the cafeteria. We spent countless hours reviewing the regs, reviewing the electrical capabilities, floor drains, etc. Even though we weren't able to accomplish all that we wanted, I so appreciated the time he took and his patience with me as a young director.
Another memory had to do with the walk-in freezer. It was so cold that it actually was snowing inside the unit. After many discussions with other engineers who could not correct the problem, I took Bob up to the freezer and showed him the snow. He had it fixed, correctly, within 24 hours. Never did he say a negative word, he simply took action.
I look forward to seeing Bob in Heaven one day.
Bless all of you, his wonderful family of whom I have the privilege to know because of Bob. You were so blessed to have this wonderful man and now blessed with beautiful memories. I know you miss him terribly - and so do I.
Love to you all,
Karen Norris

Bob Taylor was my supervisor for 11 years, but more than that he has been my friend and mentor since I met him 28 years ago. I have great respect for Bob, he taught me many lessons and gave me a lot of good advice that has contributed to my success as a person and my working career. Bob was a big influence in my life.
I have always appreciated how Bob looked out for his people and was a true leader of men. Like Darrin mentioned previously, I admired his steadying influence. Bob didn’t get ruffled when things got really stressful, keeping the crew focused on the task at hand, whatever that task was at the time, and keeping his sense of humor in the process. I too clearly remember in stressful situations Bob looking at us with that wry grin of his and saying “ain’t no one shooting at us”. I still use that saying to this day. Yes, he could really put things into perspective.
Bob helped us all to be better people as well as the best employees we could be. He encouraged me to expand my skills and take on new challenges. Bob was a great encouragement and source of advice to me when I changed careers. I will miss hearing the many stories that he had accumulated from the all of the adventures he experienced in his very full lifetime.
I offer my sincere condolences to Bob’s family. His family was his whole life. Anyone who knew anything about him knew that. Bob Taylor was an awesome Husband, Father, Grandfather, friend and mentor. It has been an honor to have counted him as my friend. He will be missed.

I just want you to know how sorry I am. Bob was one of the best people I have ever been around, even when he was my boss, he wasn’t my boss but my friend (unless I screwed up then I remembered he was my boss lol) One of the best qualities that I appreciated was that Bob treated everyone with such respect, even those that didn’t deserve it. Bob truly is one that would give you the shirt off his back, he would do anything for anyone and not expect anything in return. I would not be where I am today without Bob that is just the truth, he made us all better. Hard to believe that one man could make such an impression on so many but anyone who knew Bob would understand. The world will not be the same without him, I am so glad that I got to have Bob as a true friend the last 21 years. His wisdom, his stories, his kindness was unmatched by anyone. He made work fun even when things were bad. My favorite saying when people were in a panic he would say ("is anyone shooting at you ?" ) and that would put it all is prospective. He will be missed so much.

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. He was a great asset to all of us at Oroville Hospital and I will miss his smiling face. I was so fortunate to have worked with him over the past years, and more so in the last few months since my department moved down to the Dove's Landing. I very much appreciate all of the supervision and hard work he put into the construction and oversight of the new building. I looked forward to greeting him every morning where he sat at his desk in the corner of the foyer. He was a happy man and always had a ready smile.
God bless you all in the days to come. Thank you so much for sharing him with us.

My condolences go out to the family. Bob was an icon at Oroville Hospital, and one of the most caring and loving people I've ever know. It was a pleasure working with him and seeing him almost every day at Dove's Landing. He always had a smile for anyone who would stop and say hello. He will be sorely missed.
