Obituary of Kouay Vurn Saeturn

Kouay Saeturn, 79, surrounded by loved ones left us in the early morning of February 7, 2019.  Growing up in Laos, Kouay knew he wanted a better life not only for himself but for his wife and kids.  He made the brave decision to bring everyone to America to build the life he always envisioned.  In a foreign country, where he didn't know the language, he was able to take the little he had and build a business to support his family.  He taught them that hard work and perseverance will overcome the challenges that life can bring.  That lesson has been passed down, through the generations, building a family tree full of strong, dedicated individuals.  As a leader in the community, he has shared his wisdom with fellow Mien people and helped them build better lives for their families.  He has left a legacy that will live on in the hearts of the people he has touched and the lives he has changed.  He is survived by his wife, sons, daughters, and grandchildren who will miss those stern looks and rare but heartwarming laughs.

A Graveside Funeral Service and Burial will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2019, 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville California. Arrangements are entrusted to Oroville Funeral Home (530) 533-0323.
