Obituary of Joe Felipe Jr
His Legacy… Joe Felipe Jr. was born on October 12, 1947 in Gridley, California to Ruby and Joseph Felipe Sr. Joe passed away on January 29, 2019 in Chico, California. Joe was kind-hearted, considerate, gentle, and fun-loving. He lived with schizophrenia for around a half century, and suffered from many ailments, but in his later life he constantly expressed intense gratitude. “I love everything God’s got. I love everything God’s got. Now I’ll pray,” he used to say. Joe’s life was filled with faith. He said he talked to God like he would talk to you or me. Among his favorite pieces of advice was, “Your greatest teacher is loving people.” He enjoyed prime rib, good steak, red wine, ice cream Sundays, milkshakes, and cigarettes. He was well loved by family and friends, and is dearly missed.
His Family… Joe is survived by his sisters Nancy and Paula, his brother-in-law Allen, his brother Donald, his sister-in-law Regina, his niece Christina, his aunt Helen, and his cousins Barbara, Sarah and Zack, and his brother-in-law Benji. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Sr., his mother Ruby, and his aunt Mary.
His Farewell Service… A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Oroville at 1330 Bird St. Oroville, California. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
