Obituary of Charlene Ann Sehorn

Charlene Tuhey Sehorn passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 18, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born at Oroville-Curran Hospital on September 4, 1941.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Ardyne Tuhey and brothers Thomas and Jeffery. During the 1950’s, Charlene loved spending time at her mother’s children’s shop, The Small Fry, in downtown Oroville

 

A 1959 graduate of Oroville High School, Charlene was very active in the Girls Athletic Association and was a varsity cheerleader. She attended Chico State College for two years and then went to work for Pacific Telephone in Oroville and PG&E in Sacramento.  She worked as an Instructional Assistant in Martinez, Bird Street, and Wyandotte Avenue elementary schools, and Las Plumas and Oroville High Schools for 21 years.  She loved Oroville and served on the board of the NWSPCA for several years. She loved kids, animals and sports. Her favorite places to visit were Yellowstone National Park and Fort Bragg.

 

Charlene is survived by her husband Ray, son Peter Jaarsma (Machelle), step-son Richard Sehorn (Beatriz), grandchildren P.J., Jason, and Kevin Jaarsma and Alexandra, Liam and Tyler Sehorn.  She also leaves her sister Colleen Pedisich (Dennis), nephews Nick (Sara) and Brett (Virginia) Pedisich and grandnephews Hudson and Colton Pedisich.

 

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Nicole and Mary of Feather River Adventist Hospice. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10:30AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Oroville. A reception will follow.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the NWSPCA in Oroville or the Oroville Union High School District Hall of Fame Scholarship Program.
