Obituary of Herbert James Pruitt
His Legacy… Herbert James “Jim” Pruitt was born on February 29, 1940 in Stockton, California to Herbert and Marion Pruitt and passed away peacefully at his home in Oroville, California on January 9, 2019 at the age of 19 and a half years. He was raised in Quincy, California and graduated from Quincy High School in 1958. He then attended Oregon Tech and Sacramento State. He served as a paratrooper in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. Jim settled in Oroville where he met and married the love of his life, Theresa in 1985. Upon retirement from Laborers Union Local 185, he built his “Cadillac” of a workshop where he and Theresa spent numerous hours crafting projects for family and friends. Jim will be lovingly remembered as a loyal husband and friend and fierce patriot.
His Family… Jim is survived by his wife Theresa, daughters Erin and Antionette, grandchildren Tori and Lydia, sisters Meredith (Cliff) and Sandy (Dave) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Marion, sisters Karen and Camella, and brothers Tommy and Glenn (Betty).
His Farewell Service… Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street Oroville, California. In lieu of flowers Jim and Theresa request that donations be made to the North Valley Community Foundation, (NVCF.org) to aid the Camp Fire Victims or the Gary Sinise Foundation (garysinisefoundation.org) that helps and support veterans and their families. Memorial Service entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
