Obituary of Darrell Paul Huston
Darrel Paul Huston hit his final home run on December 2, 2018 by sliding into home plate in heaven. He will be joining the team with his brother, Stanley that went on exactly 3 years to the day before him. His oldest brother, Billy and his parents George Paul and Frances Huston will be there cheering them on. He was born on September 26, 1950 at Oroville Hospital and was the baby of the family.
He attended Oroville High and graduated in 1968. Anyone who knew him knew that he loved all sports, particularly baseball. He played it as often as he could. Later in his life his love of running, tennis and golf grew as well. He loved playing (winning) these with his son, David as often as possible.
After graduating he proudly served his country in the Navy and went to Vietnam. He was awarded several medals and had the privilege to serve in the Honor Guard for President Nixon.
After returning home he married and had 2 children. He worked at RCBS for 30 years . There he worked on the computers and ran the tool crib. He retired in 2003.
He was a devout Christian and attended Oroville Christian Church in Thermalito. His faith was the most important thing to him. His love of Jesus was felt by many in the community and passed on to his children and grandchildren. They have assurance that they will be reunited in Glory one day.
On December 5, 1987 he married the love of his life, Sam (Cynthia). They enjoyed much love and life together. One rarely saw them apart. It was a match truly made in heaven. All of their children were inspired by the love and devotion witnessed between them.
He is survived, missed and loved by many. His doting wife, Cynthia, that he affectionately called “Sammie”. They were married almost 31 years. His children Cyndee (Brian) Huston Waller, David Paul (April) Huston and Tika (Eric) Chapman-Guerra. His grandchildren, Keysha Chapman, Jacob Saporito, Braydon (Brandy) Saporito, Colby Paul (Laura) Saporito, David Paul Huston II, Hannah Saporito, Tanna Chapman, Olivia and Amber Phillips, Elijah and Hunter Huston. His sisters, Barbara Shields and Mary (Denny) Murrish Tannehill and his brother Harold (Loretta) Huston, sister and brother-in-laws, MaryAnn Huston, Arlene Huston, Dory Brubaker and GP (Mimi) Snyder. Darrell also leaves numerous nieces and nephews that were dearly loved. And lastly, his sidekick and best dog, Lelo.
In John 10:9-10 it says “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”. He is now having his most abundant life. This will be celebrated at Pursuit Christian Church on December, 15, 2018 at 11:00am with a gathering afterward at the Veterans Memorial Hall at 2310 Montgomery Street in Oroville, CA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his honor to Oroville Rescue Mission if you choose where he ministered for several years. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
