Obituary of Jimmie Wayne Rogers

Jimmie Wayne Rogers passed away August 24, 2018 at home, surrounded by family, following a brief illness.

Jim was born March 12, 1935 to JT and Velma Rogers in the township of Harper, Oklahoma. They moved to California in 1936 and he graduated from Hilmar High School in 1953.

Jim was employed by Pacific Gas and Electric Company for 36 years, retiring in 1990.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. It was not only his passion, but his way of life, a legacy he has passed on to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 66 years, Roselyn; son, Matt (Mimi) Rogers; daughter in law, Patty Rogers; grandchildren: Melanie Rogers, James (Rachael) Rogers, Luke (Stacey) Rogers, Marcie (Randy) Roesch, and eight great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, JT and Velma Rogers, and son, Johnnie James (Buck) Rogers.

A Memorial Service will be held September 5, 2018 at 12 p.m. at the Gridley Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Gridley Chapter California Deer Association at 1855 Riley Road, Gridley or Enloe Hospice at 249 W. 6th Avenue, Chico.
