Obituary of Glenda Fay Whitfield
Her Legacy… Glenda Fay Whitfield was born on Feb 1, 1959 to L.E. Whitfield and Sarah Whitfield in Oroville, CA. She attended Burbank Elementary & Oroville High School, graduating from Oroville High in 1976. She was employed in various jobs. She was a lifetime member at Taylor Memorial Church in Oroville, CA. Glenda was the choir director and pianist for numerous years. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events as well as gardening, cooking and baking. She especially loved baking pineapple upside down cakes and peach cobbler. She also enjoyed sewing and ceramics. Glenda was known to everyone as “Nanny”.
Her Family… Glenda was preceded in death by her mother Sarah Whitfield, her father L.E. Whitfield and Brother Charles Whitfield Sr. She is survived by her children; Nichole Antoinette Smith, Larry Earl Smith II, Edward Benjamin Barnes III (Trey), and LaRaeshia Nichole Whitfield. She is also survived by her brothers Carl Andrew Whitfield Sr., George Wayne Whitfield, Jimmy Wayne Whitfield Sr. & Alexander Whitfield Sr. along with her Grandchildren Jabree A. McCarter, Ronnie D. Osby Jr, Damon E. Kean, Zarah A. Smith, Kimora Pigues, Larry E. Smith III, Legend J. Smith, Marlon D. Jones III, Maelyn G. Jones, Milo D. Jones and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins.
Her Farewell Service… A Farewell Visitation will be held at Oroville Funeral Home on Thursday August 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held at Taylor Memorial Church in Oroville, CA on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial Service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville, CA.
