Virginia Wilson

Obituary of Virginia Alberta Wilson

Her Legacy… Virginia Alberta Wilson was born on July 2, 1932. She was raised in the Bay Area. Virginia moved to Oroville with her husband of 54 years, George M. Wilson in 1992, where they lived happily until his death in 2004. While in Oroville, she would attend many nights out enjoying car clubs and entering the Christmas Light Parade. Virginia had what she called the “coffee club”, in which she and many others would all meet up at the local casino for coffee and donuts and a good chat. Virginia was an avid crocheter, and plastic canvas creator. She loved most art and crafts, and enjoyed making blankets and sweater sets for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to garden, and helped her husband cultivate the land building gardens of vegetables, and lots of fruit trees. Virginia loved to have her family over for large BBQ’s and family dinners. She loved to celebrate the 4th of July, because most of the family would gather together. Another favorite celebration was when she and her husband George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Her family came from all over to help them celebrate as she proudly displayed all the photos she could get her hands on from the gala. Virginia would sit and reminisce about the trip to Hawaii that they took with Sam and Bernice Biafore. She would go on and on talking about it and all the sights they saw. Along with the outings they took and how one day she would like to return, however, as fate would have it, she would only visit Hawaii once. Virginia and George had 7 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. I never knew how she was able to keep up with all the names, birthdays and such until I found her great cheat sheet book with everyone’s names and birth dates. She had an uncanny ability to put them all in order as to who belonged to who all the way up to the disease took over. Virginia passed away on July 21, 2018 in Sheridan, Oregon after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. “Let them find a cure, let there be a first survivor…let our memories stay safe within our minds and hearts without this disease stealing them away”.

Her Legacy… Virginia is survived by her 7 children; Bernice Biafore, Kathy Ramirez, Yvonne Van Horn, George M. Wilson III, Sheryl Huey, Marilyn Moore and Fred Wilson. She is also survived by many grandchildren; Dan Ramirez, Robert Ramirez, Michelle Ramirez, Christina Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Theresa Miguel, Craig Van Horn, Yvette Taylor, Jennifer Cardenas, Craig Huey, Monique Huey, Christopher Huey, Mathew Wilson, Shari Holmes, Stephen Williams and even more great grandchildren along with her brother-in-law’s’; Paul Wilson and Ivan Mauch and several nieces and nephews. Virginia is preceded in death by her beloved husband George M. Wilson, her granddaughter Alicia Ramirez, grandson Jessie Wilson, granddaughter Anita Frasier and her great granddaughter Brook Van Horn. Thankfully, Virginia never suffered the loss of a child, but took the each loss of her grandchildren and great granddaughter very hard.
