Obituary of Lee Raymond Scofield
His Legacy… Lee Raymond Scofield was born on December 25, 1930 in Orland, California to Ellen May Turner and Jesse Gourley Scofield. Lee served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. After his service he worked as a Captain for the Butte County Sheriff’s Department for 27 years and retired in 1987. He married the love of his life Shirley Mae Schrader in September of 1963. They spent the next 55 years together raising their four children. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also owned and operated Scofield Sporting Goods Store in Gridley, California. Lee passed away on May 7, 2018 in Oroville, California.
His Family… Lee is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Scofield, his children, son, G. Douglas Scofield, daughter, Terry Barry-Snook, daughter, Ronilee Scofield Moore, son, Jesse R. Scofield all of Oroville, CA; step-daughter, Ronilee Lynch of Wasilla, AK; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Turner Scofield, his grandsons Bradley Barry and David James Lynch.
His Farewell Service… His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2390 Monte Vista Ave. Oroville, California. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
