Obituary of Iva Earlene Fullmer
Her Legacy… Iva Earlene Barney was born Spanish Fork, Utah, to Hyrum Earl Barney and Iva Pearl Huff. She passed quietly at home in the company of family in Oroville, California. Earlene married Ted Shaffer Fullmer on May 7, 1951, having fallen madly for him and his two little boys. Over the next 14 years their tribe grew to eight children, each with a built-in mission to vex their parents, but every vexation overcome by a mother’s love, until devotion supplanted vexation. Gifted with a beautiful voice she loved to sing. Although she efficiently managed several mid-life jobs, including managing the Enloe Hospital Arcadian House, her primary focus was as wife and mother. She was always in the company of family enjoying games, camping, sea cruises or just quiet visits. She graciously endured dozens of home movies with husband, Ted, as he pursued career goals, always keeping the home fires lit as he traveled to sustain their family.
Her Family… Earlene is survived by her sister Fern Despain of Boise, ID; brother Wayne (Karen) Barney of Montrose, CO; sons Martin Z. “Chip”, Robert W. (Linda), David E. (Debra), and J. Scott Fullmer, daughters Janet R. (Stephen) Fournier, Diane Fullmer, Sherrie L. (Steven) Zilles and Pamela S. Lower. Her posterity includes 27 grandchildren, and 65 great grandchildren. Preceded in passing by three sisters, two brothers and her companion of 62 years, Ted and Earlene are now together for Eternity.
