He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 with his best friend, Arnold Smith. Stationed at Fallon Naval Air Station in NV for a time, he served mainly in the Pacific. He gained skill as a mechanic working on planes. A great storyteller, he enjoyed sharing his experiences in the Navy. He worked as a log truck driver, retiring at age 80. Glenn later married Geneva Pearl Cleveland in 1948, with whom he had three children; they divorced in 1964. She died on April 7, 2015. He adored his seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. We will all miss his laugh, his smile and his sense of humor. He was known for his integrity, his concern for others and his steadfast support of his family.
