Obituary of Mary Ella Duffy
Her Legacy… Mary Ella Feenstra Duffy, born October 11, 1930 in Parker, South Dakota, passed away March 24, 2018 in Oroville, California. She grew up in South Dakota until her family moved to Southern California when she was 12. She moved to Oroville in 1963. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and aunt. Throughout her life she enjoyed riding horses, competing in endurance rides, spending time with her family, and singing. In high school she sang with the Big Bands and even sang at the Hollywood Bowl. She spent over 30 years as a meat wrapper working in family owned businesses and Curriers (now called Raleys). Mary married Richard ‘Dick’ Duffy on September 25, 1949. Together they raised 7 children. They had 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mary really loved spending time with her family and would often look at them and say, “Look what I created!” Her vehicle had a plate holder that said, “World’s Greatest Mom-7 Kids Say So!”
Her Family…Mary is survived by her six daughters and one son; Mary and Gary Mursu, Rebecca and Randy Worley, Cindy and Curt Engen, Sharon and Marty Kent, Shanna and Todd Andoe, Michelle and James Carlson, and Patrick Duffy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Duffy and grandsons Travis Andoe and Gary Mursu.
Her Farewell Service… Mary’s Farewell Service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson St. Oroville, California. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
