Obituary of Roy Kenneth Foster Jr.
Roy Kenneth Foster Jr., July 27, 1949 ~ March 15, 2018
After a short battle with cancer our beloved Roy Foster Jr., 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Chico, California surrounded by family and friends.
Roy was born on July 27, 1949 in Oakland, California to Roy Foster and Mary Vaulato. He learned the value of hard work early in his life, a trait which he instilled in each of his seven children. He was happily married for over 38 years to Elaine Beebe, and worked very hard to provide for his family. His excitement to retire and grow old with Elaine in Berry Creek, California was short lived when she lost her battle with cancer in 2013. Roy married Nancy K. Lowe, from Lehi, Utah, after just six weeks of dating, on November 8, 2013.
Roy converted to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in 1972 and his love for the gospel made his life very rich with service to the Lord. He faithfully served in many callings including ward missionary in Galt, California. His incredible testimony of the church was shared with anyone willing to listen and was strengthened by his passion for temple work and constant desire to become more like Christ. He loved learning about Church History and had an amazing library he eagerly shared with the people he loved most. Roy was his happiest when he was outdoors. If he wasn't on his tractor you could find him riding his 4-wheelers, building a fire or in his shop just trying to stay busy. His love for Nancy kept him busy clearing the poison oak so that she could safely play and explore with her children and grandchildren whenever she pleased. Roy and Nancy loved to travel and he would often surprise her with weekend getaways. He loved music and collected vinyl records for many years. Elvis Presley was his favorite and he loved to sing his heart out to any classic rock or country song.
Roy was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa and friend who touched the lives of many here on earth and will undoubtedly continue his work in heaven. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all.
