Obituary of Barbara Deene Brinker

Barbara Deene Brinker was born on August 28, 1936 in Mountain Home, AR to Raleigh & Dorothy Killgore. Barbara passed away on October 17, 2015 in Oroville, CA at the age of 79. Barbara was a resident of Oroville for 78 years. She attended Bangor School and graduated from Oroville High School. After high school Barbara married the love of her life, Sheridan Brinker, at the Drobish Ranch in Bangor where her lifetime friend, Eldora Walker, was her maid of honor. Soon after marrying, Sheridan was drafted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in El Paso, Texas, where they lived for two years. Barbara returned to Oroville where she and Sheridan raised their four children. Barbara worked as a daycare giver for eight years. Payday for Barbara meant more gifts for her grandchildren. Nothing was more important to her than her family. If one of her grandchildren had a field trip, track meet, or graduation you were sure to find proud grandma cheering them on. Barbara loved having Easter at her house with her grandchildren. Barbara loved to write poems, sew, and do ceramics, craft, embroidery, crochet, and scrapbook. She made many Afghans and embroidered many gifts for her children and grandchildren. Barbara took pleasure in making Christmas ornaments to put on her family’s packages. Barbara enjoyed the outdoors immensely, whether it be gardening or camping. She was at peace when surrounded by nature. … Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Arnold Killgore. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Sheridan Brinker, two brothers, Elmo Killgore and Don Killgore, her four children, Ararat Brinker, Arlin Brinker, Aleta Nevers and Alisa Stewart, her 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Ramsey Funeral Home 1175 Robinson St. Oroville, California with graveside committal, and a Celebration of Life at 640 Sparky Way.
